Indian Ocean is a contemporary fusion music band of Northern India. Some music critics describe the Indian Ocean music as "Indo-rock fusion with jazz-spiced rhythms that integrates, Sufism, shlokas, environmentalism, mythology and revolution". Their music blends with different cultural boundaries and echoes the distant folk music that still prevails in rural India. The lyrics celebrate individuals journey to transform the self and collective struggles to change the world to a better place.

Indian Ocean has performed over 250 accomplished concerts across the globe in the past 15 years. In 1999, the band was honoured to perform for the President of India at Khajuraho Millennium Concert. They were selected " Pick of the Fringe" at 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They have successfully toured across the globe and have performed at India Festival in Singapore, Melborne Arts Festival, New Zealand International Festival, Folklife Festival at the Smithsonian in Washington DC, Trafalgar Square in London and Indo-Pakistan Amity Concert at MIT.

Indian Ocean, Kandisa, Desert Rain, Jhini and sound track for Black Friday are their recorded albums. Jhini received AV Max award for the Best Produced Album in India. The group also featured as Artists of the Month on MTV in May 2006.

if someone told me that caste discrimination at the level of having separate tumblers & all is present in india today, i wud have laughed it off...unfortunately, it is!!

ok...its official...i am jobless....

how else can i explain the need to break my routine by doing out-of-my-routine stuff???

first, i wanted to settle proper and all that...so, i put out a tent at ikea and bot crap left, right and center...have filled my room with so much stuff that the likelihood of hitting something if u stretched a little is 100%....it hurt when i broke my brittle but valuable stuff bot with hard-earned money...

then, warren buffett happened & it hit me that my life shud not be just about me...so, i planned to save a lot of money and then give it all away...i thot i will make quick bucks initially & bot a few stocks ...all hell broke loose when the stocks went crashing down and my friends told me that i had to be smart to be an investor...

an inconvenient truth came my way and i realised that i cud be a better world citizen if i contributed my bit against global warming and started the global warming awareness week in my office...i decided that i will take the bus to office atleast twice a week from now...since my office is pretty close to my house, it is much cheaper to take my car than the bus....wht will happen to my savings if i do this now...i am really distressed...tch! tch! tch!

this is just my past month and i have not told abt my campaign for vegetarianism and against apartment rentals....meanwhile, my colleagues, distressed with my weekly obsessions tell me that i need to go get a life....am still searching ;)

vent for the day!

terrible thing happened in the office parking lot today...someone hit the gas instead of the brakes, panicked, accelerated further and fell off the cliff into the canyon below...it was horrible...there was an eye-witness who said that he saw the person get out of the car and walk to the ambulance which is a gud sign....but the whole parking thing sucks in this building...our office is on top of a mountain and they have parking facing the canyon bcoz of the stoopid view...(california is extremely overrated for this view crap!!)...drive a couple of inches fwd and this is wht happens!!

note to myself: it cud very well have been me in that car...this confusion between accelerator and brakes....tch! tch! drive carefully :)
